18th Century Rectory
Built in 1739 and set in stunning grounds, this beautiful rectory is blessed with many original features, some of which are listed. Fiona Duke Interiors has been commissioned to redesign the entire rectory which consists of 7 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms and large ground reception areas. Given the beauty of the building, care and attention has been taken to ensure that each room design complements the architectural features whilst also introducing fresh new designs to each space.
As well as full decoration of the home, where possible we tried to reinstate many original features throughout the renovation. In some rooms we uncovered beautiful fireplaces that we were able to restore and then source new surrounds where necessary.
This large fireplace was hidden behind the wall in one of the bedrooms. We were able to chip away plaster and brick to its former glory and then sourced a vintage surround.
Behind layers of paint in this bedroom we found that this surround was actually a beautiful marble and inside wonderful verdigris tiles
In the master bedroom we uncovered another fireplace with attractive green tiles and new doors that would enable us to reconfigure the layout to include a large ensuite in this master bedroom area
Preparation for the ensuite in master bedroom
The kitchen was quite dark so a roof light was installed to gain more light
Loft area - a bathroom was created out of a small dressing area and wooden panelling was reinstated in the bedrooms.
